Owning a race car or supercar is about precision engineering, raw power, and a driving experience like no other. But when it comes to the battery, these machines face unique challenges. High-compression engines demand massive starting power, advanced onboard electronics create constant drain, and unlike daily drivers, race cars or supercars often spend long stretches parked. If neglected, even the most advanced battery can quickly lose charge, leading to frustrating no-starts, expensive replacements, or worse: electronic system faults.
Some race cars have on board alternator / power systems that do not deliver sufficient power at low speed (when safety car / caution flag is out) and some racing categories (drag racing, circle track etc.) allow total loss (no alternator) systems where the battery is the only source of electrical power. Choose your OptiMate High Performance Charger by battery type / chemistry:
12V Pb / EFB / AGM lead-acid
OptiMate for 12V lead-acid Pb or sealed AGM batteries can save a battery automatically from as low as 0.5 Volts, include Ampmatic charge control that ensure the battery is charged fast yet safely, and can be left connected for safe life-extending battery care during which it delivers an hourly maintenance charge that keeps the battery within the optimal state of charge range (95-100%) for a stored Pb battery. Charge voltage is thermally regulated to deliver the right charge in any weather.
6A – OptiMate 6 Ampmatic – 12V 6A – plug & play, no selection required.
10A – OptiMate 7 Select (v3) – 12V 10A – with selection for standard FLA or EFB or AGM batteries. Includes PS powersupply mode for troubleshooting / setting up the vehicle when engine is not running.
Lithium LFP (LiFePO4)
OptiMate Lithium LFP range, designed only for Lithium Ferrous Phosphate (LFP / LiFePO4) batteries, can save a battery automatically and safely from as low as 0.5 Volts or can manually reset the BMS of batteries with built-in protection (that turn power off when deep discharged). The Ampmatic charge control is optimized for LFP technology and will ensure the battery is charged fast, yet safely. OptiMate Lithium LFP chargers can be left connected for safe long term battery care during which continuously monitors the state of charge and when necessary, delivers a maintenance charge to return the battery within the optimal state of charge range (70-90%) for a stored LFP battery. Charge current is thermally regulated to prevent damage in extreme cold or hot weather.
12V – For a 4-cell-in-series (4s) LiFePO4 battery with nominal voltage of 12.8V or 13.2V, used in a 12V vehicle system.
6A – OptiMate Lithium LFP 4s6A
10A – OptiMate Lithium LFP 4s10A
Both models include a TUNE (fixed voltage) mode for troubleshooting / setting up the vehicle when engine is not running.
16V – For a 5-cell-in-series (5s) LiFePO4 battery with nominal voltage of 16V, used in a 16V racing vehicle system.
7.5A – OptiMate Lithium LFP Select
With charge mode selection for 16V 7.5A or 12.8V 10A.
Multi-mode SELECT for 12V Pb / AGM & 12.8V / 13.2V Lithium LFP
New for 2026 are the most advanced versions of the OptiMate Select range with battery charge modes for 12V Pb (FLA / EFB), Pb-AGM and 12.8V / 13.2V LFP. All features found in OptiMate Pb and OptiMate Lithium LFP chargers are combined into this new Select platform. The Service mode offers fixed voltage(13.6V) battery support for troubleshooting or vehicle set-up and one step recharge if battery experiences a sudden high drain, such as experienced with vehicles on show.

Racing 12V or 16V Pb-AGM & LFP batteries
New for 2026 is the advanced OptiMate G series designed to recharge a racing battery as fast as possible with the default FASTCHARGE program, but also includes a selectable DIAGNOSTIC program to recover a deep discharge battery from as low as 0.5 Volts or charge smaller batteries with Ampmatic charge control that automatically adjusts charge current to match battery size.

CONNECTION ACCESSORIES
AUTOMATIC – OptiMate battery chargers are fully automatic after you connect to the battery. Your OptiMate automatically diagnoses the battery’s condition and will then save, charge and maintain as needed. No supervision required!
24-7 SAFE MAINTENANCE – OptiMate battery chargers are safe to be left connected for a weeks or months. The battery is tested hourly and receives maintenance (float) charge only if needed. Connect & forget for MORE battery power and LONGER battery life!
A lithium battery may only receive a maintenance charge every few days or weeks, depending on the drain of connected circuitry. OptiMate DUO or Lithium or Select (with LFP selection) battery chargers monitor the lithium battery's charge level hourly and will only deliver a maintenance charge if it sensed the state of charge dropped below 70%. Charge level is brought back up to 90% as is recommended for lithium battery technology. Connect & forget for MORE battery power and LONGER battery life!
OptiMate battery chargers are energy efficient certified (CAlifornia Energy Commission, US Department of Energy) which requires that a device left connected to AC power must have a draw of less than 0.5 Watts even when maintaining a battery at full charge. The BEST group of chargers and MORE group rated at 6A charge current or higher, have advanced energy saving technology such as power factor correction and synchronous rectification that make them the most energy efficient chargers compared to our competitors; power usage is less than 50% of other battery chargers. OptiMate’s advanced electronic technology reduces electricity usage and saves you money.
TWO ACCESSORIES – All OptiMate battery chargers include 2 separate accessories as standard, a set of battery clips and a fused battery lead / harness with ring connectors that can be installed on the vehicle.
